In a letter addressed to Father John Scalabrini, the guardian to Daniela and also copied to Father Isidore Mbaleeba, the Parish Priest St James Catholic Church Biina, Father Joseph Kazibwe Ntuwa on behalf of Kampala Arch-Diocese said that for Chameleone to be accepted as a catholic, he must first denounce Islam and then undergo proper Catholic Catechism. After doing that, he will be warmly received by the Catholic congregation.
Speaking after the second mass at Biina, Father Isidore Mbaleeba, the Biina Parish Priest noted that he was only waiting for Chameleone to go to the Church and carry out what the Arch-diocese required of him.
“I am only waiting to see Chameleone here. I will take him through the Catholic Catechism. We want to see him come here and apologize before the congregation. He should not speak through the media. If he really wants to be a Catholic again, he will come and do what is required”.

The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Cyprian Lwanga has requested me to inform you that following the public denouncing of the Catholic faith by Mr Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone at Kibuli mosque on Friday August 12, 2011, it will necessitate him to first undergo proper Catholic Catechism by the Parish Priest of St James Catholic Parish, Bbiina before he is re-admitted to the Church again.
