Tip explained that the song was recorded last year, and includes production from Timbaland. “Yeah, I spoke to JT. Me, him and [Timbaland] was on the phone. I did a record for them at the end of last year. They were working on a record together, and I had the pleasure of assisting them on their particular record,” Tip told MTV.
Tip explained that even if he weren’t on the project, he’d just be happy to hear some new music from Timberlake. “It’s just great that he’s back into doing music. The record he has out with Jay right now is phenomenal. It was definitely a sound that was missed,” said T.I.
According to Tip the song is called ‘Goodbye Homey’ and he revealed what the track is about.
“Well, ‘Goodbye Homey’ is really, it’s saying goodbye to something that is very special to you. Not necessarily a person; it could be a time of your life, it could be an experience, it could be a relationship, it could be a friend that’s passed on. ‘Goodbye Homey,’ it has so many meanings and definitions.
