UPDATE: BEBE and BOBI settle Music Disputes as BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS ends Prematurely.

It is 3:00 am and the show is still on. Bobi Wine is on stage but the Police want the show to stop, an instruction that Bobi Wine and his camp defy and continue to perform.

After a few minutes, Bebe Cool steps on his stage in high gear with the Kasepiki hit. At this time, fans run riot as Big Size starts off in style. But before the fans can get the real feel, Bebe Cool stops. He tells his fans that he will unfortunately not continue as the Police demands that the show as gone past time and should stop there.

“As you Gagamel fans are known for discipline. I still had twenty songs to perform but Police wants us to stop. Let us be obedient to the law and stop here. It is unfortunate that we have stopped at a time when we were just starting.”

Disappointed, a simple majority of the audience in Kyadondo (Gagamel fans) starts to walk out as their crew prepares to return its base. Bebe Cool’s great musical night ends on a low.

On the other side of the stage, Bobi Wine defies Police orders and insists to continue with his show as he has just started.

“The show has just started and we will go on. Police told us that we can sing till we get tired. So why stop now yet I still have very many songs to perform. My fans, I am not stopping. Let us enjoy our day. We have retained our championship.”

Silk Events should just be fair. Let the sound system be at its maximum. If my brother Bebe Cool has decided to end his show, he has accepted defeat. As for me, I am still going on.”

Bobi Wine continues to perform for another thirty minutes. As Police tries to stop the show, Bobi Wine tells it off insisting that his Ghetto fans have to have the value of their money.

“Let the people enjoy the music. It will take you more than four hours to end a fight started do to discontent. Don’t provoke the people. My Ghetto People are here and will protect me till the end. I do not need your security Police. Get Off my stage.”

After performing another 8 songs including Kataala, Matyansi, and Kagoma, he crowns his performance with Nyimbira Kabaka as it clocks to 3:30 am.

What a day? What a show? What a night?

At the end, each camp walked away winners as fans from each group said their camp had done better.

However, as you look out for the ultimate winner, here are a few hints to consider.
  • Bebe Cool performed close to 60 songs during his time on stage while Bobi Wine sang about 20 songs
  • Whereas Bebe Cool performed an average of 4 songs each fifteen minutes session, Bobi Wine performed an average 1.5 songs per session and used the rest of the time to talk.
  • While Bebe Cool largely stuck on doing music, Bobi Wine used much of his time to diss and attack Bebe Cool on several issues that included wealth, marriage, failure to complete house and allegedly bad character. Bebe Cool also got off some minutes and attacked Bobi Wine and his ‘life filled with lies.’
  • Even though both camps had a great audience, Bebe Cool’s audience was better in both numbers and activeness. They supported when Bebe Cool was on stage and also pressured Bobi Wine with words such as Get off stage, Bore, and Sing do not talk among others. It was as if they had planned their re-actions.
Pastor Wilson Bugembe was the only guest performer. He fast performed on Bebe Cool’s stage singing two songs; Nangirira and Bamuyita Yesu. He later went to Bobi Wine’s stage and did their collabo Ojanga Nosaba and signed off with Kiriba Kitya.

Eddie Yawe, Bobi Wine’s elder brother also appeared on both stages and preached peace and health competition in music. Buchaman also appeared backing Bebe Cool and thanking him for having a good and friendly heart.

In between, Bebe Cool brought on stage members of Katalamwe School of the disabled and fundraised money to help them live a better life.

It was great night with a great show as both Bobi and Bebe proved their music weight.
