LOCAL ENT WEEK in REVIEW. 13th-19th May 2012

Welcome to the first Edition of my weekly Local Entertainment Round-Up. I decided to do this because there are so many Ugandans who are not informed about what’s going on in our Entertainment Industry.

So, starting today, i’ll be writing a Weekly Review focusing only on LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT in-order to keep you updated in our Banana Republic.

Let us start with News from GAGAMEL ENT CREW.

• XXL, BIG SIZE, TITANIC Bebe Kool and Zuena were blessed with a Baby Boy on Sunday 13^th May 2012 and he was named “CAYSAN SALI”. Congs to you as Gagamel welcomed a New Member.

•  Aziz Azion, Maurice Hassa, Kaptain Scooter and DJ Bent of Masaka were involved in a fatal Accident on Saturday Night 12^th May as they were returning from Mbarara after a concert. Aziz and Hassa never sustained serious Injuries but Kaptain Scooter who was driving at that time and DJ Bent of Masaka sustained serious injuries and are still in Critical Condition. Sorry to WESTEND ENTERTAINMENT. Our prayers are with You Brothers.

• As other Musicians are still bickering, this guy is just making Dime. Dr. Jose Chameleon sealed a Deal to perform at the “AFRICA UN-PLUGGED” Show that will be at Wembley Stadium on 27^th August. And even info has it that he maybe the only one to represent E.A on that Night. Now this comes after the “CHAMELEONE PHONE” was launched just a few weeks back costing 59,000 Ugx only. Way to go The MUSIC DOCTOR.

• Now, talking of Bickering like Chicken, The Battle of Champions ended 3 weeks ago but the Verbal War is still going on between both camps.

BOBI WINE – Let me hope you won’t be arrested for the clothes you wore on that Night because you’ve even not yet paid the Kasepiki costumes.

BEBE KOOL – I put on costumes worth 8,000,000 Ugx and they were on special Order and besides, you put on Leather that’s meant for Sofas.

BOBI WINE – You a Liar. You wore Curtains and they can’t cost 8,000,000 Ugx.

Sometimes I just feel sorry for their Wives and Children. What kind of Example are they setting for the Fresh Generation that’s in the Pipeline…!!!!

• Still looking at The Battle of Champions, After Balaam reaped massive Dime from the Battle of Champions; he’s now planning to take it to Kenya. Just like in Uganda, PREZZO and JAGUAR of Kigeugeu are big time Rivals compared to Bobi Wine Vs Bebe Kool.

So, don’t get surprised if you hear that there’s another Battle of Champions in Kenya. But this time, it’ll be PREZZO Vs JAGUAR. Let’s just wait until Prezzo is evicted from the BIG BROTHER House and then wait for the show down.

• Talking of Bad Black.., sorry, BAD LUCK,

BIG BROTHER also took a new twist. It had been confirmed that Coco Finger and Jackie Chandiru will be performing in South Africa. This also forced Coco Finger to remix his song “Don’t Break my Heart” and featured Jackie. But info slipped in on Wednesday that it’ll be Dr. Jose Chameleon performing. I personally was kind of disappointed because it was a chance for Coco & Chandiru to carry Uganda’s Flag. But Chameleon has performed in South Africa countless Times. But anyway, sorry to Coco & Jackie…AND congratulations to Chameleone.

• After over THREE Album Launch Flops, General Mega Dee is organising his final Concert and then takes a Rest from Music. He said he wants to concentrate on his Businesses and his Crew: The Last Battalion. The concert will be held at Club Obligato but the date has not yet been revealed.

Looks like the General failed The Rules Of Engagement in the Music Battle Field. Anyway, we wish you all the Best. The Only Singing General.

• Last but not least, Mrs Bintu (DESRE LUZINDA) was attacked by some goons along NORTHERN BY-PASS who beat her up terribly. They left a Note behind reading:

WE WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DON’T LEAVE MUSIC”.

She was rushed to NSAMBYA Hospital and later flown to Nairobi for further treatment.

I personally wonder how someone can fear competition from someone like Desire. And sometimes I also ask my self whether its time for all Artistes to have Body Guards. But wait a second; even those with Kanyamas still get thumped. Eg: Bebe Kool, Jose. Chameleone, DJ Michael, etc.

Well, that’s it for the very first edition and I do hope we’ll meet next week as i give you another round-up of the Local Entertainment Industry.
