The awards ceremony was held in Eastlin hotel in Malaysia last weekend 14th April, 2012. Navio battled it up with other African high ranking artists such as D’Banji from Nigeria whom he also battled with in last year’s Channel O Music video Awards 2011 among other African stars. Navio emerged out the overall winner for Best East African Artist 2012.
At the channel O awards last year, Navio, Goodlyfe and Keko were nominated. Navio emerged most nominated Artists overall with nominations for Most Gifted Hip Hop Video Artist, Most Gifted Male Video Artist and Most Gifted Video of the Year Artist.
Since the start of this year, Navio has been doing well at the prestigious HiPipo Charts, making impressive appearances with at least one of his acts in the top 20 every week. The acts include Hot Temper Featuring Golola Moses and Dream featuring Jose Chameleone. He has appeared on HiPipo charts consecutively since the beginning of this year.
At the end of last year, Navio took home for the second time running the PAM awards Hip Hop artist of the year accolade.
