Forget the concert flops of the International artistes that are coming to Uganda right now. This was a record breaking concert with the largest crowd in the southern region.
It all started in a somber mood after Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool playing badly in the Premier League as fans delayed to turn up.
Time Check, 8:00pm and fans are still settling in but the V.I.P Section is already filled to capacity. Only 3 up-coming artistes performed and after 30min, Maria Flo Hotel Gardens were already full and even the parking lot was filled with Fans.
At exactly 8:30pm, The HARES Band of David Lutalo took up the stage playing various songs from Country Music to Zouk, SouthAfrican Music, and Congolese...etc.
Matthias Walukaga then took over the stage with a Mind blowing performance of only 3 songs: Tomala Gasoma, Bambega and finally blowing up the crowd with his National Anthem ’ ’BAKOWU’. ..
As dwellers were preparing to take a breath, BIG MUZIK lightened up the stage again with Shokess opening up followed by Big Chief and then Professor. Bigg Eye nailed it performing all his songs but Going Higher was his best of the Night.
But many people wondered why Professor. Bigg Eye’s still performing Mango Juice yet the song belongs to Jazema Ba.
David Lutalo then stepped on stage with all his songs and based on the Fans response, he was the Best Performer on the Nite.
Now the Long Awaited BIG TALENT Crew had to deliver and it was Gravity Omutujju to kick-start the Show. But again, that’s when STRAKA caused Fracas when she conquered the Emceeing Job to introduce her Boyfriend ’ Gravity and she was booed off Stage instantly. He performed only 2 songs: Swagazilla & Walumbe Zaaya.
That's when the Homeboy Idrisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo, born and raised in Senyange stepped on stage amidst the Loudest Screams I’ve ever witnessed from Fans. Just like always, whenever he’s performing in Masaka, you always see that Joy in him seeing Thousands of home fans screaming.
In the middle of his performance, he stopped abruptly and sprung a surprise Artiste’ And that was Remah - the best vocalist from GAGAMEL Ent Crew who sang "Oli Wange plus Seaze & Sickle". It was mind blowing because this was the second time for Remah to perform in Masaka after Bebe Kool introduced her to the fans last year in the same venue.
All in all, it was the Concert of the Year in Masaka with TURBO RAYS providing the Marvelous Sound and Lights’, all performances were done Live, all Artistes delivered to the expectations and the Emcees did a Great Job ’ Mbazira Tony & Suuna Ben of 98.8 & 95.5 Fm Radio Buddu.
