Cindy who last month posted on her Facebook timeline that she had been conned by a one Idd Kibirige, a Bangalore-based Ugandan music promoter has been dragged to court.
The music promoter who is being represented by Ochieng, Harimwomugasho & Co. Advocates has sued Cindy for defamation. He claims that the Facebook post injured his reputation making him look bad in the eyes of the public.
On May 26 2012, Cindy posted on her facebook timeline that “Just got back home tonight,me and my crew are all so excited abt being home,surely east or west..........home is best. I finally found some pics of the promoter who paid me in fake dollars,Enjoy. He's called Kim kibirige,lives in bangalore (India).I sincerely hope non of you goes thru this. Its one thing to be cheated at home, its another to be cheated millions of miles away from home”. This was followed with the photo of the plaintiff.
Cindy has been served with a letter with clear intentions to sue. The plaintiff, Kibirige, also demands an apology that must be highlighted in all media that published the issue. We will bring you Cindy's side of the story.
