It all began when the MCs of the night; Kats and Idringi Salvador announced the Chameleone mobile phone auctioning session. They set the initial auction price at Shs 500,000 and then sent the micro-phones to the VIP section.
Judith Heard who was sat next to the stage took up the microphone first and said that she wanted to buy the phone at once with no auctioning.
“Let me give my bid price and the deal is that after I have declared my price, the auctioning should end,” Judith Heard said, to which the MCs agreed. She announced that she was to buy the Chameleone phone at a huge 2000 Pounds (about Shs 8 million). This excited the audience who gave Judith Heard several rounds of applause.
However while Judith Heard was getting praised, MC Kats took one of the microphones to Lady Zari who was seated at the far left corner of VIP section.
With all lights and eyes on her, Zari said;
“Today we have not come here to show off money because at least everyone has their own money. Your money is yours and benefits you alone. My question before she stops the auction is that, does she have the money (2000 Pounds) in cash or it is a pledge?”
Zari’s statements brought more excitement in the audience as they asked Judith Heard to pay in cash. The lights and eyes then turned to Judith Heard again who instead of paying the money threw endless demeaning insults to Zari.
With both Zari and Judith Heard’s tempers boiling high, all lights were switched off. In order to avert an impending fight between these two high rollers, the MCs ended the auctioning prematurely and Chameleone returned on stage for his last session.
On Sunday, Zari withheld her earlier statements about Judith Heard at Kyadondo when she wrote on Facebook.
“Gal 2nite was not abt(sic) me or u, it was about chameleon. It was not abt who has money or not as u, me n everybody else who was at the concert has money that's y we all turned up. It was abt if u had £2000 to buy the phone, u calling me a silly bitch n all was typical of u. Everything I have I own, u? Anyhow.....gone r d days wen I dissed n all; I've got priorities n ur none of them. Gudluck with ur life, I flew in to support my not cham and to buy my sons a commercial property in d city, c u not on my agenda..... Find Jesus u need him..”
