Grammy-winning rapper T.I. is the latest artist to stand by President Barack Obama in light of his recent public acknowledgement of same-sex marriage and explained his personal stance on the topic.
Happily married to longtime girlfriend/singer Tiny Cottle, Tip said he does not see the harm in same-sex marriage especially when it does not impact his personal life.
"Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don't care," the "Live Your Life" MC said about the non-stop debate on same-sex marriage when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "I think that if a matter doesn't affect your daily life, you shouldn't take a hard stand on it. If it's not something that directly affects you, if it doesn't affect you, what difference does it make to you what other people are doing with their lives?" (MTV)
A few days ago, rap star Jay-Z publicly vouched his support on the controversial marriage issue.
Rapper Jay-Z on Monday threw his support behind President Barack Obama's stance on legalizing same-sex marriage. The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said not allowing gay marriage was "holding the country back," in an interview with CNN's Poppy Harlow. "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple," Jay-Z, a longtime supporter of Obama, added. (My Fox DC)
