Channel Music Video Awards nominations 2011, Navio, STL, Keko, and Goodlyfe
Keep Moving, How We Do Remix
Two top Hip Hop Ugandan artists and One Afro duo were recently nominated for the prestigious Channel O music video awards.
I believe this is what One8’s Navio real names Daniel Kigozi calls going international.
Locally, based on the nomination, Navio is already the biggest winner in Uganda as he has been nominated in 3 Channel O Music Video awards categories. These include; Most Gifted Video of the Year Artist, Most Gifted Male Video Artist and Most Gifted Hip Hop Video Artist. We hope Navio will run home of a big award for 2011.
On the other side, Keko and Goodlyfe crew have been nominated for the MOST GIFTED AFRICAN EAST VIDEO ARTIST channel O awards category all thanks to Keko’s How We Do remix featuring Radio and Weasel.
The other notable East African artists that have been nominated include; STL, Ay, Wyre, Cecile, Nazizi, P- Unit, Jaguar and Cpwaa.
This year’s Channel O music video awards nominations were announced at Taboo in Sandton by the Kasi 101 host Lungile Radu and Dineo Moeketsi.
Press, celebrities and industry financiers were in existence to honor the ceremony by cracking open bottles of bubbly.
Also present was, DJ Cleo who is nominated in the Most Gifted Dance Video category.
The Channel O Music Awards have been in existence since 2003. The awards represent and support music from African artists in the continent and Diaspora. 2011 Winners will be announced in November once all the votes are in and tallied.
Channel O Music video awards are a brain child of Channel O TV; a South African-based music channel which first started transmission in the early nineties, it promotes African music.
