Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z collected two awards each at the 2012 BET Awards on Sunday (July 1). After Kanye West, the married duo topped the nominations list and mockingly duked it out for the night's big award, Video of the Year (the Throne won, and B playfully jabbed her husband when their name was called). Beyoncé was the second-most-nominated act of the night with six awards.
The event additionally featured an extensive Whitney Houston tribute. For the session, Monica and Brandy took the stage to perform "I'm Your Baby Tonight" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", Chaka Khan delivered "I'm Every Woman", while Whitney's mother Cissy Houston sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to commemorate her late daughter.
