Diamond Oscar has been this music artiste in the background. The self-proclaimed Bling master is one of those few honest fellows who are quick to admit their malnourished English language oratory skills. More than a fortnight ago, Diamond Oscar publicly announced on his Facebook timeline that he had been entrusted as the new Ghetto president.
One of his first major changes involved this revolutionary changing the name Uganja to Ughetto. It was alleged that Bobi Wine during his tenure as president had forgotten about his ghetto citizenry which he led and was now a president who had lost touch with his people. The Ghetto people also decried Bobi Wine’s satirical remarks about the people in the slums and that he cared less about what happened to them.
Since the Ghetto republic calender is back dated to the Uganda republic, the State of the Nation address by Diamond Oscar also came in later after President Museveni’s address

SUBJECT: NOTIFICATION OF YOUR DISMISSAL FROM THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF THE NOW DEFUNCT UGANJA REPUBLIC WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
The residents of all the ghettos in Uganda that form the Democratic Republic of Ughetto have decided unanimously to dismiss you from the position of President and render the Republic of Uganja defunct with immediate effect for the following reasons:
1. YOU CAN NOT SERVE TWO MASTERS AT AGO
Since you carry the tag “Omubanda wa Kabaka”, the people claim you do not have enough time for ghetto activities and on many occasions you have poured scorn and ridicule on the residents of the ghetto and I quote, “Nsaasira omuntu amala omwaka mu yyala nafata omulala”. This has dented your image and seriously alienated you from the Ughetto people because you seem to find your joy in their disenfranchisement.
You therefore can not serve the Kabaka of Buganda; Ccuucu, Nantawetwa, Beene, Empologoma ya’Buganda, Bbaffe, Nnantagattikwa and at the same time serve the ghetto people. You need to devote all your time completely to the services of the Kabaka of Buganda. The people of Ughetto are masters in their own right and therefore have chosen a new person to serve them.
2. INDISCIPLINE & DISRESPECT
Recently at a boxing fight, you ordered for the forceful removal of your hitherto Vice President Hon. Buchaman from the boxing fight premises. This shows barbarism, objectionable bigotry and a total disregard for the rights of people with disabilities (PWD’S); an act very deplorable if not repugnant; one very uncharacteristic of the ethics of leadership expected of a president.
3. RE-BRANDING THE GHETTO.
We have had a change of name for the ghetto republic from Uganja to the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF UGHETTO firstly because: The new government has come to institute fundamental changes in the areas of health, education, sports, entertainment, hygiene, among other necessities; something the defunct Uganja republic has miserably failed to do.
We intend to use avenues like ‘Munno mukabi’, Ggwanga mujje’, ‘Bulungi bwansi’ among others to push for total ghetto emancipation in the above mentioned areas of concern; all the while liaising with the central government, stakeholders and other development partners to see to it that we devise ghetto development oriented programs that are fully sustainable.
Secondly, through your song “ghetto naziggala”, you seem to advocate for a total disenfranchisement of ghetto residents, branding them ganja smokers, drug abusers and addicts who cannot do anything sustainable for themselves. You fail to realize that there are people in the ghetto who smoke their ganja responsibly and still work to contribute to the development of the ghettos in particular and Uganda in general.
There are many still in the ghetto that do not smoke ganja but are in the ghetto as a result of nature’s dictates, and are working hard to look after their loved ones all the while contributing directly or indirectly to the economy of the ghetto in particular and Uganda in general. We have therefore found it necessary to re-brand from the defunct Uganja republic which you so negatively portray in your song “ghetto naziggala”, to a new state called THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF UGHETTO and of course with a new visionary, revolutionary and development oriented leader.
4. NEGLECT OF DUTY
Many ghettos are in a deplorable state with poverty, hunger, illiteracy, poor sanitation, poor education facilities, all eating away indiscriminately at our people. Instead of devising ways of curtailing these ills, you go about bragging and I quote, “Kanzirye nzinywe aloga aloge, Mukama yampa”; seriously, from a President?! Enough is enough! The ghetto people have a new leader and that is final.
If you insist on calling yourself the ghetto President, we shall sue you for attempting to obtain ghetto respect by false pretence, among other counts. Opinion polls that have been run on several entertainment websites indicate that the new president was encouraged to take over ghetto power by 0ver 80% of all “Ughettoans” (ghetto residents). We are however willing to include you in the new government if you are ready to work with the new president and his executive, since we respect ex-presidents as diplomats.
